About the Role;
This isn’t just an R&D leadership role it’s your chance to shape the future of how millions of people experience their homes every day. As VP of R&D for Shark’s Home Environment and Non Robotic Floorcare categories, you’ll set the vision, steer the strategy, and raise the bar for what great looks like.
You’ll own the long term innovation roadmap, turning big picture strategy into breakthrough products that people love and rate 5 stars. Sitting at the leadership table, you’ll connect the dots across the business aligning teams, unlocking investment, and making sure we move fast, smart, and with purpose.
At your core, you’re the champion of consumer first innovation driving performance, reliability, and a little bit of wow into everything we build.
What You’ll Do;
- Set the vision Define and drive the long term R&D and technology strategy across key categories future focused, bold, and built to win
- Lead innovation at scale Balance breakthrough ideas with real world delivery, ensuring a strong pipeline from concept to shelf
- Own the portfolio Prioritise what matters, manage risk, and keep programs on track, on budget, and ahead of expectations
- Push what’s possible Explore emerging tech, new materials, and smarter architectures turning insight into competitive advantage
- Collaborate like a pro Partner across Design, Product, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to bring ideas to life seamlessly
- Build a world class team Inspire, grow, and scale a global R&D organisation that thrives on curiosity, pace, and accountability
- Drive results Use data, insight, and instinct to guide decisions, influence leadership, and deliver meaningful business impact
What You’ll Bring;
- Deep experience 20+ years leading Engineering or R&D, including running large, complex, global teams and portfolios
- Proven impact A track record of delivering standout consumer products that define and redefine categories
- Strategic mindset You think big, act decisively, and know how to align teams around a clear direction
- Leadership presence Confident influencing at the highest levels whether that’s executive stakeholders or the board
- Consumer obsession You don’t just understand customers you anticipate them and build products they didn’t know they needed
- Data driven thinking Comfortable using numbers to prioritise, justify investment, and make smart calls
- Technical depth Experience with airflow, performance driven systems, or similar complex engineering challenges
