Purpose of the Role:

MUFG is seeking a Vice President, Trade and Supply Chain Finance Product Manager to join their Transaction Banking teak in Singapore. This pivotal regional role offers you the opportunity to shape the future of trade finance products across APAC, acting as a Subject Matter Expert and trusted advisor within a highly respected organisation. You will be at the forefront of product innovation, supporting sustainable trade finance solutions and leveraging both proprietary and third-party platforms.

Key Job Responsibilities

Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that meet client needs while maintaining rigorous compliance standards. You will analyse transactional workflows to optimise processes, provide expert guidance to regional managers, and deliver insightful presentations that inform strategic decision-making. In your role you will have a particular focus on working with our Mandarin speaking client group.

  • Lead comprehensive assessments for new products, product variations, and bespoke deals for the Singapore branch, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Collaborate closely with functional stakeholders at headquarters, regional offices, and country teams to drive product initiatives and maintain regional consistency.
  • Develop detailed product structures and schematics that support both primary and secondary market offerings in documentary trade.
  • Analyse end-to-end transactional workflows to identify areas for efficiency improvement and operational risk reduction.
  • Ensure all product development activities comply with relevant bank policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support APAC branch Product Managers outside Singapore by providing guidance on product assessments to foster harmonisation across the region.
  • Provide thought leadership by introducing new product capabilities that enhance efficiency, mitigate risks, generate revenue, and strengthen market position.
  • Assist the Head of Department in setting up product strategy and driving key initiatives across APAC to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Track and manage product performance metrics including revenue generation from newly commercialised products, remediation of underperforming products, profitability analysis, and RORA evaluation.
  • Function as a centre of expertise on product mapping and profitability analysis while translating complex concepts into clear executive-ready presentations.

Job Requirements

Your proven experience as Vice President, Trade and Supply Chain Finance Product Manager will demonstrate your ability to manage complex product portfolios within transaction banking. You bring advanced technical skills in financial modelling and data analysis along with exceptional presentation abilities that make complex concepts accessible. Your organisational strengths allow you to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. You are recognised for your analytical acumen which supports effective decision-making across regional teams. Your familiarity with documentary trade products positions you as an expert resource within the organisation.   • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or a related discipline is required for this role
  • 6–8 years of relevant experience in transaction banking with a focus on documentary trade is essential for success.
  • Experience working in or supporting transaction banking business with Mandarin speaking clients as the role requires interaction with Mandarin speaking clients.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for product performance reporting is necessary.
  • Strong background in MIS (Management Information Systems) and data analysis enables you to track performance metrics accurately.
  • Expertise in PowerPoint for creating executive-level presentations that distil complex information into clear visual outputs is highly valued.
  • Highly organised approach allows you to manage multiple priorities efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical capability empowers you to distil complex data into clear written, verbal, and visual outputs for diverse audiences.
