Job Description

In this role you will lead a team of Product Managers to ensure our multi-asset product set remains competitively positioned and well-articulated in the marketplace.

You will provide timely insights on portfolio positioning and competitive advantage in support of the sales process. You will work closely with product development to lead large scale projects and collaborate with key stakeholders to optimize the product line across multiple channels.

The role can be based from either our Boston or our Minneapolis office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting in a player/coach capacity leads a team of Product Managers to act as product owners for assigned product line(s), leading product advocacy efforts to drive market share gains.  Conduct research and analysis to understand the marketplace, competitors, and advisor/client needs and develop effective strategies to highlight and capitalize on competitive advantages. Represent strategies to the sales organization and the mutual fund boards through the development of written materials and delivery of messages through multiple media.
  • Partner with Client Portfolio Managers and the Investment Teams in representing strategies to prospects and clients, bringing product expertise and investment acumen. Set performance expectations for products and assess performance results versus expectations, benchmarks, and peers. Evaluate and recommend product changes.
  • Provide effective leadership to direct reports incorporating performance management practices through individual performance plans, periodic reviews and feedback sessions, coaching and development.

 
Required

  • Financial services experience, preferably in product development and/or management for assigned product line.
  • People leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (4-years) in Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated success in influencing senior leaders across a complex matrix internal environment as well as with third parties.
  • Strategic and analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems and identify new product solutions.
  • Experience with various products including understanding of compliance rules and regulations for products and industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large and complex projects, including planning, status and issue management.
  • Excellent communication skills including proposal/presentation development and delivery, and meeting facilitation.
  • Series 7 (or SIE and Series 7 top off exam) and 66 (or 63 & 65 combined) or the ability to obtain within a defined period of time.

  • MBA or CFA preferred
  • Flexibility to work effectively with sales and investments teams.

Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $200,000-$230,000 per year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
