The Vice President, Procurement and Supply Chain is the senior executive leader responsible for overseeing the full integrated procurement and supply chain function at Hourglass Cosmetics. The VP leads a high-performing organization and partners cross-functionally with executive stakeholders across Product Development, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Sales to ensure world-class supplier ecosystems and seamless supply chain execution in support of Hourglass’s global growth objectives and Unilever Prestige commitments. Responsible for Sourcing, Supply Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics, the VP will be responsible for ensuring our Fill Rates are maximized, at costs that maximize gross margin (while maintaining our exacting Quality standards), all while achieving Unilever’s Days on Hand targets.

WHAT YOU DO:

Enterprise Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Define and own the multi-year integrated strategy for procurement and supply chain, aligned to Hourglass’s growth agenda.
  • Build, mentor, and lead the integrated procurement and supply chain organization, including direct oversight of the Sourcing & Procurement, Purchasing and Logistics leaders, Supply Planning establishing clear roles, development pathways, and a high-performance culture.
  • Serve as the executive-level point of contact for strategic supplier relationships.
  • Build the relationship with the UPD China Head of Sourcing, so we can benefit from their deep regional network ties
  • Represent Procurement and Supply Chain in senior leadership forums, presenting portfolio performance, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to the executive team.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the combined function to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Define and track KPIs across procurement and supply chain operations including service level, inventory health, on-time delivery, lead time adherence, cost management, and supplier performance.

 Procurement & Sourcing Strategy

  • Partner with the Product Development to embed sourcing strategy early in the innovation pipeline, enabling speed-to-market and cost competitiveness from concept stage.
  • Establish and govern a preferred supplier network capable of supporting aggressive launch calendars while maintaining Hourglass’s standards for quality and sustainability.
  • Lead executive-level negotiations on commercial frameworks, including turnkey, directed buy, and tolling models, ensuring optimal total cost of ownership.
  • Ensure full compliance with Hourglass and Unilever supplier standards, including ethical sourcing, environmental requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Set up kick-off meetings when new suppliers are added to our network, so our internal functional leaders can meet their counterparts at the new supplier, and ways of working can be established cleanly from the start

Supply Chain Operations (Planning, Purchasing, and Logistics)

  • Provide executive oversight of the end-to-end supply chain operation, directing the Supply Chain leader and Supply Planning leader, across MRP, logistics, inventory management, and S&OP processes.
  • Oversee logistics operations, managing the end-to-end movement of goods between global suppliers, contract manufacturers, and the Hourglass Distribution Center across all transportation modes (air, sea, truck, rail); review and optimize freight costs and mode selection.
  • Ensure accurate landed cost application and timely processing of freight and customs invoices in NetSuite ERP; oversee Transfer Order management, ensuring all shipment dates, quantities, and statuses are maintained accurately.
  • Lead S&OP coordination with Demand Planning, Finance, Sales, and Marketing to develop tactical supply chain plans aligned with business goals and global forecast.

Cost Leadership & Financial Stewardship

  • Own the total cost of goods strategy, setting targets and driving accountability across sourcing, procurement, and supply chain operations.
  • Lead implementation of Open Book and Should-Cost methodologies across strategic supplier relationships.
  • Identify and deliver year-over-year cost savings initiatives without compromising product quality or brand integrity; implement margin optimization and operational cost-saving strategies across the full function.
  • Partner with Finance on COGS forecasting, Inventory projections, budget planning, and scenario modeling to support business decisions.

 Supplier Governance & Risk Management

  • Design and oversee a robust Supplier Performance Management framework, including scorecards, KPIs, and escalation protocols across contract manufacturers, packaging suppliers, and freight forwarders.
  • Build more resiliency into our supply chain by reconfiguring where we produce, who we procure from, and how much safety stock we hold
  • Lead executive Quarterly Business Reviews with strategic partners, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute a supply chain risk mitigation strategy, including dual-sourcing, capacity reservation agreements (LOIs), and contingency planning for long lead time or scarce materials.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for supply issues including delays, out-of-spec materials, capacity constraints, and supply disruptions; proactively develop and communicate contingency plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Excellence

  • Flexibly take on full-scope ownership of ad-hoc projects .
  • Champion process improvements across pricing, planning, logistics, and vendor setup to drive operational efficiency and scalability across the integrated function.
  • Partner with Product Development and Project Management teams on new product launch planning, providing scenario analysis, sourcing recommendations, and logistics planning during cross-functional NPD meetings.
  • Partner with the Quality team to establish proactive quality governance programs with key vendors, leading resolution of escalated issues and negotiating remediation.
  • Collaborate with Legal on supplier agreements, NDAs, and commercial contract structures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive procurement and supply chain experience in the Health & Beauty or consumer products industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of building and scaling organizations across both sourcing/procurement and end-to-end supply chain functions.
  • Deep expertise in global supplier management, contract negotiation, and commercial strategy for finished goods and packaging.
  • Proven experience overseeing end-to-end supply chain operations including demand planning, supply planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Experience with Open Book costing, Should-Cost modeling, and total cost of ownership frameworks.
  • Deep experience with MRP/ERP systems; Oracle Planning Cloud (OPC) and NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate at the executive and board level.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience owning COGS strategy and budget accountability.
  • Experience navigating a matrixed, multinational organization; Unilever or similar CPG/prestige environment a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to present effectively to executive leadership and articulate complex supply chain and procurement concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Track record of building, developing, and retaining high-performing teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Experience with international freight forwarding and logistics operations;
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

The expected base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $220,000 per year. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
