CxB is seeking a Vice-President Portfolio Manager to help deliver customized Separately Managed Accounts at institutional standards through customized, Multi-Asset solutions.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Oversee multi-asset portfolios across a range of client types and structures, including model portfolios and bespoke discretionary mandates.
  • Support the existing CxB portfolio management team as the platform continues to scale, while collaborating across other CxB business lines, including taxable and municipal fixed income and equity portfolio managers.
  • Contribute to the integration of the CxB platform into BlackRock by aligning portfolio management practices, processes, and investment standards with firmwide frameworks
  • Execute daily portfolio management activities, including rebalancing, cash management, trade implementation, and monitoring portfolio exposures, risk, and performance.
  • Maintain accurate portfolio data and analytics to support internal reporting, portfolio reviews, and investment decisions.
  • Partner with investment strategy, research, and CIO teams to implement asset allocation views and portfolio construction frameworks.
  • Monitor portfolios for adherence to investment guidelines, risk parameters, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support portfolio transitions, client inflows/outflows, and mandate changes with disciplined execution and operational precision.
  • Perform portfolio reviews and deliver investment analysis and commentary for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Collaborate with trading, operations, and risk teams to ensure efficient implementation and smooth lifecycle management of portfolios.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across portfolio management processes, analytics, and tooling to enhance scale, consistency, and governance.
  • Participate in investment research discussions related to asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management.
  • Respond to ad hoc portfolio analysis requests from senior investment leaders and distribution partners.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent)
  • 4 – 6 years of relevant experience
  • Separately Managed Account / Retail Asset Management / Models experience preferred
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses required, or must be obtained within 120 days of hire
  • Investment credibility through previous product or portfolio management experience in at least one asset class
  • Familiar with tax management practices, including tax loss harvesting, to support portfolio transitions and year-end planning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex investment concepts clearly and effectively
  • Proven experience engaging directly with end-clients
  • Strong analytical capabilities combined with sound technical and investment judgment
  • Knowledge and appreciation for processes around operational nuances as well as portfolio management metrics
  • Strong work ethic, a team player and a commercial perspective
  • Strong technical capabilities, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, as well as experience with Python, portfolio optimization, and financial statement analysis; familiarity with industry data platforms such as FactSet, Bloomberg, and Morningstar is expected, with additional preference for experience using BlackRock proprietary tools like Aladdin
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$155,000.00 - USD$210,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
