Vice President, People Business Partner, Law, Global Affairs & Policy (GAP), and Intercompany Agreements & Service Governance (IA&SG)
The Vice President, People Business Partner supporting these three businesses within the CAO organization has primary responsibility for advancing a comprehensive people strategy, which addresses all aspects of the employee lifecycle and organization design and development, in support of the business-wide strategic goals and performance.

Law - focused on enabling safe, compliant, and responsible growth by providing strategic legal counsel across the enterprise. The function plays a critical role in supporting business resilience, enabling innovation, and ensuring sustainable growth in an increasingly dynamic global landscape.
Global Affairs & Policy - advances Mastercard’s strategic priorities by shaping and influencing public policy, regulatory frameworks, and government relationships worldwide. The function positions Mastercard as a trusted voice with policymakers and public stakeholders, advocating for policies that foster innovation, competition, and inclusive economic growth.
Intercompany Agreements & Service Governance - supports Mastercard’s global operating model by enabling clear, compliant, and scalable intercompany frameworks across regions and functions. The team partners closely with Legal, Tax, Finance, and business stakeholders to design and maintain agreements that define services, cost allocations, and decision rights across the enterprise.
The People Business Partner will design and implement a people strategy that supports the needs of these organizations, while aligning to the overarching strategy of CAO and Mastercard. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, People & Capability, CAO, MSG and P&C.
Role:
Responsible for the development and implementation of talent strategies and initiatives, and management of people and organization activities for assigned portfolio.
Act as a positive cultural change agent, consultant and business advisor to the leadership team, enabling the execution of their business strategies and initiatives.
Partner with Mastercard’s Centers of Excellence and local People Business Partners to develop strategies and initiatives designed to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
Serve as an advocate for employees and develop and implement initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement, development, and productivity.
Manage and perform a wide range of P&C activities including, but not limited to: strategic alignment, leadership development and succession planning, organization design, compensation assessment, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations management, and employee coaching.
Partner with Finance to manage the budget and forecasting of expenses related to employees and all other P&C activities.

Expertise as a People Business Partner supporting global and technical teams.
Experience in consulting with senior business leaders and coaching people leaders and employees to drive strategic people and culture initiatives.
Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization and develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
Ability to design and articulate strategic vision and plans, as well as execute those plans with excellence.
Strong business acumen coupled with efficient project management, negotiation and influencing skills.
Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability drive the people and culture agenda with speed, agility and quality.
Ability to travel domestically and globally, as needed.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Arlington, Virginia: $221,000 - $353,000 USD
Miami, Florida: $192,000 - $307,000 USD
