Bridge Debt Strategies is seeking a motivated VP of Originations to support the sourcing, underwriting, and execution of direct lending investments. This individual will work closely with senior leaders to evaluate opportunities, manage transactions from initial review through closing, and support portfolio performance throughout the life of each investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus on sourcing, underwriting, structuring, and closing real estate debt investments, working closely with senior originators and Investment Management Committee members
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsors/borrowers, mortgage brokers, and other intermediaries in order to source new direct lending opportunities
  • Travel to borrower meetings, property tours, and industry events to support deal sourcing and execution
  • Underwrite potential direct lending opportunities by modeling and reviewing detailed financial models, including cash flow projections, value creation, lease-up, and refinance or sale exit scenarios
  • Analyze credit risk, sponsorship strength, market fundamentals, and collateral quality for each investment
  • Coordinate the originations, transaction management and deal teams through underwriting, investment management committee approval, and closing
  • Lead the preparation of loan investment summaries and internal credit memos for presentation to the Investment Management Committee
  • Act as a resource to the asset management team post-closing, providing underwriting insight and support on amendments, extensions, and ongoing credit matters

What you should bring

  • 3 to 8 years of experience in real estate lending/originations, debt underwriting, investment banking and/or capital markets. Title is TBD based on experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university
  • Strong credit, structuring and underwriting experience across all commercial real estate property types, with a focus on transitional assets
  • Ability to independently lead underwriting, structuring, and execution of real estate debt investments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong focus on deal execution and relationship building
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and meet aggressive timelines
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team-oriented environment

Compensation Details

The anticipated wage scale for candidates who will work in New York is $250,000-340,000 per year. The hired applicant will also be eligible for an annual performance based discretionary bonus. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc. Bridge Investment Group is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations

  • 401K: Bridge Investment Group will match your contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to 6% of your pay. These contributions are fully vested immediately. Eligible employees are automatically enrolled at a 4% contribution rate. *The employee must be at least 21 years of age and have worked for the Company for at least 60 days.
  • Paid Time Off: Employee will accrue 5.23 hours of paid time off per pay period for a total of 17 days per year.

  • Following six (6) months of employment at the Company, you will be eligible per birth, adoption or placement of a child for four (4) weeks of paid parental leave as the primary caregiver to the child or two weeks of paid parental leave as the secondary caregiver to the child. Following two years of employment at the Company, you will be eligible for twelve weeks of paid parental leave per birth, adoption, or placement of a child if you are the primary caregiver of the child.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $5,000 per year of pre-approved tuition expenses will be reimbursed upon submission of approved documentation. Repayment obligations may apply if employment terminates prior to 24 months.
