What you will be doing:

  • Team management
    • Lead team colleagues and support Head of Tokyo Rep Office to ensure overall Tokyo office activities including Operations, Client Engagement/ Support and office admin work effectively and efficiently.
  • Internal communication
    • Proactively communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth Tokyo office activities (Operations, Premises, IT Security, Legal, Risk, HR and so on)
  • External communication
    • Communicate with BOJ timely and effectively - Payment & Settlement Sys Dept, IT Dept, Operations Dept.
    • Communicate with Settlement Members, Nostros and other CLS clients effectively.
  • JPY Operations
    • Manage Tokyo Operations to ensure functioning effectively as a team to perform JPY BAU, regular trials, and contingency procedures.
    • Proceed with multiple projects from JPY operations perspective.
    • Communicate with Kyndryl Japan for B-Gate operation/maintenance/upgrade.
    • Maintenance of BOJ Net related applications
  • Client support/management
    • Support Settlement Members and other CLS services clients in onboarding, BAU and community wide projects.
  • Local committee representation
    • Conduct market wide BCP test as a member of Tokyo FX Market Committee (BCP sub-committees)
  • Administration
    • Perform required administrative tasks to ensure office environment being effective.
    • Manage Office IT equipment and configuration together with Deskside IT support (Stefanini/Gateway Computer)
    • Support Tokyo BCM including Fire and Disaster prevention management.
    • Manage Office vendors (Daikin, Takachiho, Computec, Ricoh, MUFG Bank, Mitsui Fudosan Building Management)
    • Manage office equipment purchase, repairment, disposal and hardware audit, power shutdown.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong analytical capabilities and sound judgment. Capable of good understanding of CLS Operations rules and procedures.
  • Logical thinking capabilities to sufficiently understand jobs and tasks with little experiencing them
  • In depth knowledge of FX markets, functioning and products through front to back office
  • In depth knowledge of BOJNet, FXYCS, SWIFT and payment business in general
  • Understanding of IT and IT applications in banking environment
  • Skilled and experienced interacting across regulators and all client types including BOJ and Kyndryl, and with key stakeholders and executives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English, including attention to detail, and high standards for work product.
  • Strong collaboration and partnership approach
  • Ability to successfully work in, and lead teams
  • Sufficient risk management skills and cultures as 1st line of defense

 

Professional qualifications / certifications

  • graduate degree or higher.
  • Experience working for financial market infrastructures, Member banks, CCPs or exchanges
  • Background in FX business or client support in financial sector.
