Summary:
Responsible for establishing overall program goals and objectives and provides leadership over the Operations Engineering organization. Ensures that all departmental activities are aligned with overall company goals and strategies. Develops Operations equipment, manages programs, researches new ideas, and establishes an Operations equipment roadmap. Focus is on both strategic and tactical programs to deliver and sustain innovative products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee delivery of Operations equipment projects involving mechanical, electrical and software development, that are manual, semi-automated and/or automated, across the project teams while supporting a unified culture, vision and strategy for overall equipment development.
Oversees sustaining and scale-up efforts of existing equipment, improvement and optimization of equipment and processes, and development of new equipment supporting both existing and new products.
Ensure project performance on-time, on budget and with high quality results.
Assures that company milestones and plans are developed for each project and that the planned results are realized.
Reviews staffing levels for programs and recruit and hire staff to fill key roles in the Operations Engineering organization as well as determining when to use consultants and outside design houses.
Analyzes research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility of project proposal.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, regulation and security laws in medical device technology space.
Coordinate and communicate with other senior leaders on product roadmap, operational opportunities and challenges, partnership opportunities, key performance indicators, financial results and other management priorities.
Responsible for ensuring that department understands and complies with quality standards and requirements as documented.
Required Qualifications:
15+ years’ experience in leadership of technical staff with a track record of progressive growth in responsibility.
Track record of recruiting exceptional talent and building high performing teams
10+ years’ experience leading product development teams
Proven track record of successfully bringing technology products to market
Demonstrated track record of project management success and planning complex technology integration projects
Proven abilities to manage, mentor, and motivate employees.
Ability to organize, motivate and lead diverse technology and project teams in a quickly growing and agile/flexible corporate environment.
Strong technical background and ability to quickly come up to speed on various technologies and build immediate credibility with technical team.
Ability to prioritize and manage a large number of diverse projects while constantly communicating results across the organization and maintaining alignment with senior executives.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering discipline
