Mainsail is on a path of rapid growth over the next two to five years, and we are seeking a Vice President, Human Resources, who will successfully create and implement innovative HR solutions and will guide the organization as a transformational leader to build a path to ensure business success.

The Vice President of Human Resources (VPHR) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing and executing a people and culture strategy that enables growth across Mainsail’s four lines of business. This individual leads all aspects of human resources and drives the development and execution of HR strategies that align with organizational goals across geographically dispersed properties.

The VPHR partners with senior leadership to shape workforce planning, talent management, and employee development initiatives that support business growth and operational success.

What you will do:
 

Strategic Leadership
•    Function as a strategic business partner to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
•    Lead organizational design and workforce planning to ensure the right talent, structure, and capabilities are in place to achieve growth targets.
•    Advise on and manage complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective,
thorough and objective investigations for high-profile/high-risk situations.

Talent, Culture, and Engagement
•    Strengthen leadership capability across the organization through learning, coaching, and development programs.
•    Develop strategies to attract and retain associates in highly competitive labor markets
•    Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs.
•    Conduct market analyses to ensure equitable and attractive pay structures.
•    Evaluate and implement employee wellness and benefits initiatives.

Operational Excellence
•    Lead all core HR functions: talent acquisition, total rewards, performance, compensation, talent management, and succession planning.
•    Implement scalable systems, processes, and analytics to support data-driven decision making and operational consistency across all locations.
•    Oversee HR integration for acquisitions, new property openings, and employee growth throughout the portfolio.
•    Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of
associates, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal
counsel as needed/required.
•    Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive
and cost-effective.

Change Leadership
•    Serve as a visible and trusted leader during periods of organizational growth and change, balancing empathy, communication, and accountability.
•    Build and maintain communication and engagement systems that keep all associates connected regardless of their geographic location.
•    Partner closely with operations and finance to ensure a smooth transition and cultural alignment for new associates.

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
•    Proficiency in HR technology and data analytics (Workday preferred).

What you will need
•    Bachelor’s degree required
•    MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field preferred.
•    A minimum of 15 years of HR experience, with at least five years of executive HR experience.
•    SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or HRCI Certification preferred.
•    HR experience in Hospitality industry strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements
•    Primarily office-based with travel to property locations.
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
•    Occasionally required to lift and carry materials for meetings or events.
