Oaktree

Vice President

Los Angeles Full time

Our Company

Oaktree is a leader among global investment managers specializing in alternative investments, with more than $220 billion in assets under management. The firm emphasizes an opportunistic, value-oriented, and risk-controlled approach to investments in credit, equity, and real estate. The firm has more than 1,400 employees and offices in more than 25 cities worldwide.

We are committed to cultivating an environment that is collaborative, curious, inclusive and honors diversity of thought. Providing training and career development opportunities and emphasizing strong support for our local communities through philanthropic initiatives are essential to our culture.

Launched in 1988, Global Opportunities, Oaktree’s flagship opportunistic credit strategy, is currently investing out of its $16 billion Fund XII. It employs an all-weather strategy with a broad mandate, and ability to invest across the capital structure in debt or equity with a focus on finding the most attractive public and private opportunities worldwide. The strategy (previously known as Distressed Opportunities) has deep roots in distressed debt, reorganizations, and restructurings, but it has evolved over the last thirty years to include a wide-ranging set of investment activities targeting a mid-teens and above return. These include providing proprietarily originated capital solutions in structured and risk-controlled ways to borrowers with limited access to funding; buying assets in out-of-favor industries; and creating platforms with superior management teams who seek to exploit attractive undervalued, niche, and/or dislocation-driven opportunities.
