Mid‑Market Commercial Banking – Team Overview
The Mid‑Market Commercial Banking team, part of BMO Financial Group, is a national business serving privately held and diversified mid‑market companies across Canada. The team delivers customized financing, treasury, and advisory solutions to clients with borrowing needs typically ranging from $1.5MM to $10MM, supporting growth, acquisitions, working capital, real estate, and capital expenditures.
Operating coast‑to‑coast, the Mid‑Market group partners closely with specialized product teams to provide integrated solutions including cash management, equipment financing, leasing, trade finance, derivatives, and subordinated debt. The team plays a key role in BMO’s commercial strategy, managing a broad portfolio of clients across diversified industries.
Job Overview
The Vice President, Mid‑Market Commercial Banking is the senior sales leader overseeing the Peel region’s commercial portfolio. This role manages a team of Senior Relationship Managers, providing leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to drive growth, deepen client relationships, and maintain strong credit quality across a diversified book of business.
The VP is accountable for the oversight and management of a significant loan portfolio, ensuring disciplined risk management, consistent market execution, and the delivery of industry‑leading client experiences. The role supports business development efforts, champions cross‑enterprise collaboration, and facilitates the delivery of a full suite of commercial banking products including lending, cash management, leasing, trade finance, and treasury services.
The leader acts as the primary point of escalation for complex transactions, sets portfolio strategy for the region, and works closely with credit partners to structure, negotiate, and approve financing opportunities within the $1.5MM–$10MM lending range. The VP represents BMO within the Peel business community, strengthening the bank’s presence and identifying opportunities for growth across diversified industries.
Facilitates growth for the Bank through business development and management of key client relationships. Maintains an outstanding and continuous record of significant revenue generation from sales and syndications.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
