A little bit about our team:

The WMX Finance team supports the global merchandising, artist services, and supply chain within WMX. We partner closely with commercial, creative, and operational leaders to drive financial performance, improve visibility across complex revenue streams, and enable scalable growth across touring, e-commerce, retail, and licensing channels.

Your role:

WMX is seeking a Vice President, Merchandising Finance & Strategy to serve as the lead financial architect and primary advisor to the President of Merchandising & E-Commerce. This is a high-impact leadership role designed for a music industry veteran who possesses a rare blend of strategic foresight and operational grit.

Reporting to the CFO of WMX, you will sit at the intersection of finance and creative commerce, being responsible for a global portfolio that spans touring, e-commerce/DTC, retail, licensing, and VIP experiences. Your mission is to translate complex, multi-channel data into a cohesive commercial strategy that maximizes artist value and drives sustainable global growth. By embedding deeply within the merchandising organization, you will not only provide critical insight into artist and tour economics but will also act as a catalyst for smarter decision-making across the entire WMX ecosystem.

Here you’ll get to:

  • Serve as the lead finance partner to the President of Merchandising & E-Commerce, translating creative strategies into robust financial frameworks (revenue, margin, and investment).

  • Actively influence pricing, product mix, and channel strategy to optimize profitability across a global portfolio.

  • Provide forward-looking insights and stress-test growth strategies for DTC, retail, licensing, and VIP experiences.

  • Partner on artist signings and renewals by evaluating royalty rates, advances, recoupment, and profit-sharing risks.

  • Drive tour profitability by analyzing per-head metrics, venue commissions, and vending cost structures.

  • Lead inventory forecasting and cost modeling to optimize on-site execution and minimize obsolescence.

  • Analyze performance trends across artists and regions to improve settlement structures and financial outcomes.

  • Manage financial performance across Shopify, global marketplaces, and physical retail.

  • Deliver actionable data on conversion, AOV (Average Order Value), and digital marketing ROI to scale the DTC business.

  • Track product-level margins and global demand trends to guide inventory deployment and supply chain priorities.

  • Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning (LRP) for the global merchandising organization.

  • Establish comprehensive P&L visibility at the artist and tour levels, tracking KPIs including revenue per head, inventory turns, and sell-through rates.

  • Partner with Central FP&A and Accounting to ensure accurate reporting, scalable processes, and streamlined variance analysis

  • Build and mentor a high-performing merchandising finance function, directly managing a team of four.

  • Foster deep integration between Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing to align operational execution with financial goals.

About you:

  • 10–15+ years of progressive experience in Finance, Strategy, or Operations, with a proven track record in high-growth environments.

  • Deep expertise in music merchandising economics specifically across Touring, DTC/E-commerce, and Global Licensing.

  • Demonstrated success serving as a primary advisor to senior commercial leaders (Presidents, CEOs, or Founders) within the music or live events space.

  • Proven ability to navigate a high-volume, inventory-driven business that requires both financial rigor and a deep understanding of artist-centric relationships.

  • Operates as a "true business partner" who provides proactive solutions rather than just reporting on historical data.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence and build credibility across both creative teams and corporate executive leadership.

  • Thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments where the pace of the music and touring industry dictates the workflow.

We’d love it if you also had:

  • Mastery of financial modeling to turn raw data into sophisticated commercial decision-support tools.

  • Experience managing complex merchandising operations across multiple international regions. panning (LRP) for the global merchandising business.

  • Establish artist-level P&L visibility and track critical metrics including inventory turns, sell-through rates, and obsolescence.

  • Build and mentor a dedicated merchandising finance function.

This position requires a minimum of 4 days per week in the office. We value in-office collaboration, which is essential for talent development and strong working relationships. #LI-Onsite Salary Range: $190,000 to $205,000 Annually Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
