The L&C Transformation and Change team plays a critical role in shaping the evolution of the Legal & Compliance operating model. Partnering across L&C functions and with Technology stakeholders, the team conducts end-to-end process mapping to consolidate, standardize, and streamline existing processes within the India CoE — leveraging technology and automation to modernize ways of working and drive sustainable efficiency gains across the platform.

The Vice President – Transformation and Change will be a leader within Blackstone's India Center of Excellence, responsible for defining and executing this agenda across the L&C function globally. The role requires a structured, rigorous approach to process evaluation and improvement, a strong grasp of technology and automation enablement, and experience leading complex change across global functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead multi‑year, enterprise‑wide transformation programs across Legal & Compliance, aligned with Blackstone's global strategy and operating model objectives.

  • Leverage the India CoE model to drive harmonization, standardization, and reuse of processes and capabilities across Legal & Compliance teams globally.

  • Drive modernization, digitization, and operational scalability across core L&C functions, including through automation, AI, and advanced analytics.

  • Partner with Technology teams to identify and deliver automation and technology solutions that modernize how L&C work is performed, in a manner consistent with Blackstone's technology and risk standards.

  • Collaborate with Data and Analytics teams to embed data and reporting capabilities into transformation initiatives, improving transparency, controls, and insight generation across the L&C function.

  • Establish strong governance, prioritization, and execution frameworks to ensure consistent delivery and measurable outcomes across the transformation portfolio.

  • Act as a bridge between L&C leadership and Technology teams, providing clear executive‑level communication on progress, risks, and outcomes.

  • Lead enterprise change management, ensuring adoption, capability uplift, and cultural alignment with transformation objectives across the L&C function.

  • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, identifying and incubating emerging technologies and new ways of working that create sustainable competitive advantage.

  • Partner closely with global stakeholders across time zones and support business needs outside of regular business hours as required.

Qualifications

Blackstone seeks professionals who demonstrate sound judgment, a strong work ethic, and a consistent record of achievement.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.

  • 12+ years of progressive experience, including senior people leadership in a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Demonstrated success leading large‑scale, enterprise transformation programs, including within legal, compliance, or professional services functions.

  • Track record of driving organizational change and adoption across complex, matrixed environments.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing and partnering with senior executives and global leadership teams.

  • Familiarity with automation and technology tools, including AI, and experience partnering effectively with Technology teams to deliver practical solutions.

  • Experience leveraging data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and embed reporting and controls into operational processes.

  • High degree of autonomy, sound judgment, and comfort operating independently in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and prioritization skills.
