Strategic
- Lead the promotion of products to customers and identify and promote cross selling opportunities
Financial
- Manage the delivery of relevant banking services to customers, in own coverage area to meet the department's revenue targets.
Customer
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and understand their needs in order to provide a high quality of service.
- Anticipate as well as be sensitive to shifting customer expectations and provide recommendations to the wider department on appropriate measures to ensure the Bank stays ahead of competitors.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG including Japanese corporate clients and stakeholders and externally
- Work in partnership with Compliance to consult on compliance issues, including but not limited Know Your Customer and Sanctions.
- Work in partnership with Credit on any credit issues associated with deals.
- Work in partnership with Tokyo Head Office to understand customers and business to ensure that appropriate advice is provided and meets the requirements of customers transactions to the customer.
- Visit customers when required, to represent the business to resolve issues and maintain the customer’s relationship
People
- Support, coach and guide team on complex corporate banking issues.
Other/ Control
- Review deal proposals and credit applications to ensure pricing, product offerings and the structuring of the deal is aligned to business strategy, delivers a high quality of service to customers and mitigates risk to the Bank.
- Structure complex financial solutions that will deliver a high quality of service to customers and mitigates risk for the Bank.
- Regularly report the performance of the team against set targets and future pipeline of deals.
- Support the team in difficult negotiations with customers including but not limited to contract terms and conditions and pricing, as well as seek commercial solutions to finalise the deal.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and limits.
- Support departmental initiatives to deliver increase revenue opportunities and deliver a high quality of service to customers.
- Maintain good working knowledge of industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations.
- (FOR REGISTERED RNFs representatives) To advise on investment products concerning OTC derivatives contracts (includes FX Forwards) under Financial Advisers Act (FAA) and To Deal in investment products concerning OTC derivatives contracts (includes FX Forwards) under Securities and Futures Act (SFA)
- To handle Embedded loans
Job Requirements:
- Minimum JLPT N1 Certification (or equivalent business-level Japanese proficiency) to communicate effectively with stakeholders of various divisions in Tokyo Head Office, as the role requires interaction with Japanese speaking stakeholders.
- Minimum 6 years of Japanese corporate banking experience as the role requires interaction with Japanese corporate clients and stakeholders
- Minimum Degree qualified
- Proven communication skills with the ability to influence others and sell products
- Demonstrated strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments
- Proven ability to coach team members and manage a team.
- Demonstrated In-depth knowledge of MUFG’s products and services
- Apply knowledge of local laws and regulations to ensure compliance across processes, and projects
- Highly organized with strong time management
