THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE
Santander GTB is looking for a Vice President – GTB Select to be based in Amsterdam, with primary responsibility for origination and development of new large corporate clients.
The role focuses exclusively on Large Corporate clients with annual revenues above EUR 500 million, supporting Santander’s growth strategy in The Netherlands through the acquisition and development of complex, international GTB relationships.
Key Responsibilities
New Client Origination
- Proactively identify, originate, and onboard new large corporate clients (revenues > EUR 500M).
- Build and manage a strong origination pipeline through direct client engagement, strategic market analysis and internal referrals.
- Drive GTB wallet penetration from early-stage client discussions.
Client Coverage & Relationship Development
- Act as a senior GTB point of contact for prospective large corporates.Develop and maintain relationships with CFOs, Treasurers and senior finance
- Develop and maintain relationships with CFOs, Treasurers and senior finance executives
- Position Santander as a long-term strategic partner for transaction banking and structured trade solutions.
GTB Solutions Origination
- Originate and coordinate delivery of complex GTB solutions including: o Cash management, payments and liquidity solutions o Trade finance and working capital structures o Export Finance and Agency Finance solutions, in coordination with specialist teams
- Work closely with product, risk and legal teams to tailor solutions aligned with client business models and international footprints. Internal Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate with Corporate & Investment Banking coverage teams, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Operations.
- Lead credit and onboarding processes for new large corporate clients, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Support execution and post-origination phases to ensure client satisfaction and sustainable revenues. Market & Business Development
- Contribute to GTB Select commercial strategy in The Netherlands, with specific focus on large corporates and multinational groups.
- Identify sector trends, export flows and cross-border opportunities relevant to Export and Agency Finance
- Represent Santander in senior-level client meetings and selected market initiatives.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Professional Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in: o Global Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking or Investment Banking coverage roles (Required)
- .Proven track record in origination of new large corporate clients and development of transaction banking revenues. (Required)
- Solid knowledge of the Dutch corporate market and proven relationship with corporate clients. (Required)
- Solid experience working with complex, international corporate structures. Education (Required)
- Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent. (Required)
- Postgraduate qualifications (MBA, Master in Finance) are considered a plus. Languages (Requiered)
- Dutch and English: fluent (required) • Spanish: a strong plus Technical & Professional Skills (Reguiered)
- Strong expertise in: o Working Capital, Cash management, payments, liquidity management and trade finance. o Export Finance and Agency Finance frameworks and products. (Required)
- Sound understanding of: o Credit processes, risk assessment, KYC and onboarding requirements for large corporates.(Required)
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and executive-level communication abilities. (Required)
- Ability to operate autonomously within a complex, matrix organization. (Required)
