Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As the Vice President, FX Sales, you will assist the Singapore FX Sales team to manage the relationship between the client and RBCCM for an assigned group of customers and develop agreed upon revenue targets.  You will ensure the needs of the customer base are consistently satisfied while achieving sustainable earnings with minimal risk.

What will you do?

  • Achieve revenue (CV target); client development targets.  Budget per discussed with Management.
  • Supports the APAC FX sales team coverage of Corporate, Institutional, and Hedge Funds clients in APAC and also global relationships dealing into the Asian time zones.
  • Negotiates products, services and pricing with the customer.
  • Creates value for customers by creatively utilizing the resources of RBCCM.
  • Ensures that at all times open positions are within delegated authorities.
  • Is alert to market intelligence with regard to the Banks customer base and when relevant shares such intelligence with colleagues.
  • Identifies learning needs and directs a continuous learning program, applying same to the job.
  • Participates in and contributes to task forces, focus groups and special assignments.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Degree or equivalent is required.
  • The role would typically require 2-5 years of relevant experience in Foreign Exchange including sales, marketing, research and execution.
  • This role requires speaking to North Asia-based clients, proficiency in Mandarin is essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of FX Clients across Real Money, Hedge Fund, Macro and generally institutional names across APAC.
  • Proven ability to generate ideas and initiate business with clients taking into account investor preferences.
  • Provide a high level of service to clients across corporate and institutional sectors in Hong Kong, Singapore and across APAC.
  • Provide a high level of service to North American and European accounts dealing into the Asian time zone.
  • Assist to position RBC as the preferred provider of Foreign Exchange services.
  • Build a strong internal network to achieve cross marketing targets and high level of collaboration.
  • Work closely with FI Sales team to further connect institutional relationships across the two teams.
  • Leverage RBCs research capabilities to existing and target client relationships.
  • Strong analytical ability and interest in financial markets.
