Position Overview:

The Vice President of Corporate Services will be responsible for strategic planning and operation of the Corporation’s physical facilities and related services. Corporate Services provides a wide range of services that support staff across the company. Many of the operations are behind the scenes, but all of them play a vital role in keeping Freddie Mac's business processes and buildings fully operational. This includes real estate management, property development, facilities management, physical security and transportation demand management, event and audio-visual support, food, fitness, mail, and reprographic business services, as well as the corporate information resource center. Your Impact:

This role is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of long-range planning and operation of the Corporation’s physical facilities and related services to include oversight and resourcing to develop, implement and manage policies, procedures and practices for the corporate facilities and related business services. In addition, this position manages acquisition and disposition of corporate real estate, and design, build- out and furnishing of physical spaces across Freddie Mac's campuses.

Key Responsibilities:

The VP, Corporate Services, supports a multitude of different business areas and is responsible for an array of corporate and business services functions and activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the acquisition and disposition of leased and owned corporate real estate, the design, construction, build-out and furnishing of all physical spaces across Freddie Mac's campus and facilities and all space planning move-related activities including pre-planning and post-move wrap up.
  • Ensure the physical security of all Freddie Mac buildings in addition to transportation demand management including parking arrangements.
  • Manage facilities including engineering services, maintenance, cleaning, landscaping across Freddie Mac buildings with a focus on sustainability.
  • Manage CIRC (Corporate Information Research Center) that provides a range of information services and resources to management and employees.
  • Manage Freddie Mac on-site food services including cafeterias, coffee shops and catering in addition to fitness center services.
  • Provide event management services for on and off-site events, as well as audio visual management and support.
  • Provide copying, production, publication fulfillment services, and document scanning for Freddie Mac materials through the Reprographics Center, as well as mail shipping and receiving services.
  • Execute facility resiliency and risk management of foundational processes, including facility-based business continuity planning and management.
  • Manage multiple complex processes and programs, create annual budget based on department needs and strategy.
  • Use advanced logic to make complex judgements with a noticeable impact on department / functional results.
  • Leverage broad knowledge across multiple areas and business lines to foster strategic relationships with peers and senior management.
  • Serve as an advisor to leadership, negotiate change across direct area of responsibility.
  • Direct short- and long-term department staffing needs and development.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in contributing to the execution of strategic and operational objectives in facilities and business services management, supplier management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong communication, project management, organizational and negotiation skills required. 
  • Demonstrated experience at leading an operations function, with end-to-end responsibilities from strategy-setting to daily execution.
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to partner with business leaders and translate their needs into actionable, practical initiatives; capacity to define expectations and key success factors and metrics in business terms.
  • Proven experience in leading major change initiatives and innovative approaches in the face of challenging internal and external pressures.
  • Strong executive presence and thought leader and ability to communicate ideas and influence as an executive.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience designing and implementing proactive strategies to address business issues, process improvements, and implementation of policies.
  • Proven experience delivering executive/stakeholder presentations and materials to provide updates, disseminate information, and demonstrate impact.
  • Experience leading a highly engaged team of employees and contracted services (200+ suppliers with 650+ contracted staff) that oversee and execute operations.
  • Minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience. College degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree in business, or related field preferred.

The successful candidate will have the ability to establish credibility at all levels of the organization, a strong leadership profile, exceptional communication skills, and an effective adaptive style across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups, including the board of directors, other senior leaders, and FHFA, our conservator and regulator.

Strong operations management, facilities management, budgeting and forecasting expertise and notable business experience are highly important. Candidate should be adept at challenging the status quo and advocating for continuous improvement while seeking opportunities for personal growth of staff. Candidate must provide strategic services to our internal business partners to help manage and enhance the organization’s work environment and to ensure that business practices align with legal and regulatory expectations.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $200,000 - $300,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
