Role: Vice President Core Lab

Reporting to: General Manager, India & Neighboring Markets

Organization: Roche Diagnostics India & Neighboring Markets

Location: Mumbai

Job purpose:

The Vice President Core Lab serves as the franchise leader for the high-volume, Core

Laboratory diagnostic portfolio. You hold complete P&L accountability, including Topline

Revenue, Bottom-line Profitability, and Cash Flow management. This role is responsible for

driving strategic direction and commercial execution across two critical business pillars: Core

Lab and Clinical Value Sales. You provide direct leadership to the Heads of Sales for these

Business Areas and operate in a matrix leadership capacity with cross-functional teams to

maintain market leadership and drive the adoption of integrated laboratory solutions.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Financial & Strategic Leadership (P&L Ownership)

  • Complete P&L Accountability: Full responsibility for the financial health of the

  • business, ensuring achievement of annual revenue targets, gross margin

  • optimization, and strict OPEX management.

  • Cash Flow Management: Oversee inventory levels, accounts receivable /

  • collections, and capital expenditure (CAPEX) investments to ensure healthy cash flow cycles.

  • Growth Strategy: Develop and execute 3-5 year growth roadmaps, identifying market gaps in the high-volume testing segment and driving the transition to total lab automation.

  • Commercial Execution & Portfolio Management

  • Multi-Pillar Oversight: Drive integrated commercial strategies across Core Lab and Clinical Value Sales to maximize portfolio penetration.

  • Strategic Selling: Support the sales team in implementing strategic selling principles and a consultancy approach with customers.

  • Portfolio Differentiation: Liaise cross functionally to develop new businesses and differentiate the sales portfolio.

  • People & Matrix Leadership

  • Direct Leadership: Select, develop, and evaluate a high-performing team of Heads of Sales for each Business Area.

  • Matrix Collaboration: Influence and align with cross-functional partners to ensure the efficient execution of business plans.

  • Leadership Behaviors: Actively exhibit Roche leadership behaviors and an agile growth mindset.

  • Market Intelligence & Compliance

  • Pricing Strategy: Define guidelines for prices and terms to ensure the best deals are secured in compliance with positioning.

  • Business Intelligence: Supervise market and competitive analysis to maintain best-in-class market knowledge.

  • Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all commercial activities comply with local and international healthcare regulations.

Who you are:

  • Degree in Engineering. Science or a related field

  • 12-15 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing

  • Prior experience in people leadership, proven skills in leadership, motivation and empathy

  • Enterprise mindset and systems thinking

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • Ability and proficiency to work with senior leadership team members

  • Strong interpersonal skills, solution-focused and strong collaborative mindset

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and navigate organizational complexity

  • Ability to take decisions in a fast paced environment and under ambiguity
