Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data Business department and play a significant role in shaping the index product, a growth business within the group. This newly form team will be responsible for delivering differentiating index products that align with the strategy of the business and the exchange as a whole. We are looking for a high caliber and motivated individual to join our team with responsibility spanning across strategy execution and project implementation.
Job Duties:
To be successful in this role you will leverage your domain expertise and passion for the industry to:
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage business plans and strategy, including growth priorities, product roadmap, budgeting, competitive positioning and ecosystem development.
- Develop and maintain licensing frameworks for index-linked products, benchmarking, and data redistribution, ensuring alignment with market standards and internal governance.
- Support development of new index concepts by analysing market demand, client use‑cases, revenue potential and commercial viability.
- Maintain market intelligence on global index trends, client demand, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics.
- Manage business administrative functions such as contract management and general client services.
- Assess potential partners and strategic engagements. Maintain strong relationships and serve as liaison with both internal and external stakeholders, partners and clients.
- Promote any new capabilities across asset classes and new capabilities as they are developed.
- Create presentations and papers using excellent communication skills to gain support and investment in product initiatives.
- Leverage strengths as a team player to collaborate across various functions including IT, Product, Research and Operations.
Requirements:
- Relevant university degree or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in business development and planning, experience from Index/ETF businesses, asset management is preferable.
- Demonstrate good understanding of the financial markets and investment industries.
- Business management and development experience
- A self-starter with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset and high agility.
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
