Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration

Provides financial and facilities leadership and direction to the South Bend-Elkhart campus. This position provides administrative oversight to the finance department and budget management, as well as the integrity of all financial records and fiscal compliance relevant to college policies and procedures. This position provides administrative oversight to the campus facilities departments.

PAY: $110,000 - 121,000 per year

LOCATION: East Chicago with frequent travel to Crown Point and Gary and some regional travel.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides supervision and leadership for the Business Office and Facilities Department.

  • Directs all financial and accounting activities of the campus in accordance with guidelines set forth by the Chief Financial Officer and Chancellor.

  • Plans, prepares, and administers annual operating, capital, utilities and lease budgets.

  • Provides monthly campus financial analysis and interpretation and maintains necessary budgetary controls.

  • Ensures integrity of all financial, accounts receivable, and fixed asset information for the campus.

  • Oversees procurement processes and facilities contracting processing at the campus level in accordance with College policy.

  • Oversees third-party contracts/grants from government agencies in conjunction with System Office Sponsored Program Accounting staff.

  • Directs Business Office functions including purchasing, budgeting, accounts receivables, and fixed asset management.

  • Directs Facilities Department functions including routine maintenance and operation as well as renovation, rehabilitation, and new project construction ensuing policy and procedure are followed.

  • Attend Campus Board of Trustee meetings and present pertinent financial and facilities information.

  • Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees in which every individual feels respected and valued.

  • Manages and coordinates special projects as assigned by the Chancellors.

  • Demonstrates a strong customer service and/or student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving, and desire to identify and support student success.

  • Participates in major campus events such as, but not limited to, the commencement ceremony.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business discipline or public administration required.

  • Related Master’s degree, CPA, or CMA preferred. 

  • Ten years of experience in administration with at least five years in post-secondary administration and at least five years of supervisor experience.

  •  Must be adept at resolving individual and group conflicts, and must have excellent written and oral communication skills. 

  • Ability and willingness to travel.
