As a Vibration and Acoustic Test Engineer, you will perform dynamic tests (shock and vibration) and acoustic tests during the development, qualification and acceptance of components and subsystems for our Launch Vehicle. You will work at our vibration test facilities and help our development teams with dynamic tests. Additionally, you will participate in testing at external facilities when required. You will be in close contact with the avionics, propulsion, and launch vehicle teams, being one of the first to operate their parts on simulated flight conditions and helping figure out the failure modes and improvements needed.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
Find test requirements and assess their suitability with our development teams
Prepare test processes, guide internal teams and be their consultant for all questions related to tests
Perform test trade-offs when necessary and recommend the minimum necessary tests
Participate in validation of numerical models in relation with noise generation, propagation, and transmission, as well as structural dynamic response to acoustic and vibratory loads
Help to develop passive and active noise and vibration control solutions
Develop and or procure new test equipment when necessary
Plan, prepare, execute tests, process data, and write reports
Develop and maintain internal test standards, procedures and sequences
Proactively improve test facilities with a focus to cover all test requirements while helping to increase launch cadence
