VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is expanding our Primary Care (General Practice) service and looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative team.
This is a great opportunity for a technician who enjoys building relationships with clients, practicing high-quality medicine, and fully utilizing their technical skills in a supportive hospital environment.
A Day in Primary Care at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital:
Our Primary Care technicians focus on preventative medicine, dentistry, anesthesia, and patient diagnostics, while benefiting from the support of a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital when advanced care is needed.
In this role, you will utilize a wide range of technical skills, including:
Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
Patient assessments and assisting with physical examinations
Laboratory sample collection and diagnostic testing
Surgical preparation and assisting with procedures
Maintaining sterile surgical conditions
Anesthesia monitoring for soft tissue surgeries and dental procedures
Dentistry and dental radiography
Laser therapy treatments
Pharmacy duties and medication preparation
Providing discharge instructions and client education
Assisting with post-operative patient care
Maintaining accurate medical records and estimates
You will also collaborate with technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive consistent, high-quality care.
Compensation: $ 26 - 28/hr
Starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, 4 x 10-hour shifts with rotating Satrudays.
