Your Role: Pet Health Veterinary Technical Consultant - Central

As a Pet Health Veterinary Technical Consultant, you will be part of the Canadian Pet Health team to deliver essential technical support and market development. In this role, you'll be responsible for advancing Elanco's product brands, educating veterinary professionals, and supporting the growth of our innovation pipeline and established portfolio.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive technical product and disease training to veterinary clinics, corporate partners, and the internal sales team.
  • Handle complex technical inquiries, including off-label indications and adverse events, utilizing deep veterinary expertise.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with key opinion leaders, key accounts, and veterinary schools.
  • Support market development by providing technical insights, ensuring the accuracy of promotional materials, and identifying emerging trends.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Regulatory Affairs to support product positioning, including targeted field ride-withs.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree and licensed to practice in Canada.
  • A minimum of 2 years of field experience (veterinary practice or commercial experience).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills combined with a strong customer focus and adaptable mindset.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • 5 years of industry experience, preferably with product launches or in a high-growth market.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
  • Proven track record of building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and corporate accounts.
  • Experience in handling pharmacovigilance or suspected adverse drug events.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical attributes into defensible product positions.

Additional Information: 

  • Travel: 40-50% travel (majority driving distance within Ontario, minimum 2 field days per week)
  • Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA) / Mississauga, ON, Canada

Elanco Benefits and Perks:

​The expected base salary for this position ranges from $85,500 to $142,000. The actual base salary offered may vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees. The compensation package is subject to change, and the actual base salary could be higher or lower than the range described above.
