Hours: Full-time or part-time considered | 40 hours over 4 days (08:30–18:30) | 1 in 5 Saturdays (08:30–16:30) | No OOH

Not every veterinary role needs to be about constant progression, specialization, or stepping into leadership.
Some vets are looking for something different, a role where you can focus on doing good, consistent clinical work, feel confident in your day-to-day, and be part of a supportive team without added pressure.
This is exactly what Cinque Ports offers.
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join Cinque Ports Veterinary Group, supporting our practices in Tenterden and Hawkhurst, with optional time at our Kingsnorth Hospital. This role is ideally suited to a vet with around 2–3 years’ UK experience who is confident with routine surgery and consultations, and is looking for a stable, well-supported environment with a steady pace and realistic expectations.
Why join us
The team & practice
Cinque Ports Veterinary Group is an RCVS-accredited group with six established sites across Kent and East Sussex, supported by our Kingsnorth Hospital.
Hawkhurst offers a welcoming, community-focused practice environment with a loyal client base and a steady, manageable caseload, ideal for vets who enjoy building relationships and working at a sustainable pace.
Tenterden, often referred to as the “Jewel of the Weald,” provides a picturesque, village-style setting with a strong sense of community. The practice benefits from a friendly client base and a balanced mix of routine and preventative care, making it a great environment for vets who prefer consistency over intensity.
Across the group, you’ll be supported by experienced Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses with a range of clinical interests, alongside access to well-equipped facilities including digital and dental x-ray, ultrasound and in-house lab equipment.
Kingsnorth Hospital provides additional support and case continuity, with 24/7 emergency care handled by Vets Now.
This is a varied but well-paced position, combining consultations and routine surgery, with some sole charge across our branch practices.
You’ll work primarily across Hawkhurst and Tenterden, with flexibility to support Rye or spend time at Kingsnorth Hospital if desired.
The focus here is on confidence and consistency, rather than complexity, giving you the space to build solid clinical foundations without being overwhelmed by high-intensity caseloads.
