Position Overview

The Veterinary Assistant supports our doctors and technicians in providing safe, high-quality medical care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and positive experience for clients. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Technical Support

  • Safely restrain patients for exams and procedures

  • Assist technicians with diagnostics including radiographs, lab sample collection, and in-house testing

  • Prepare and maintain treatment areas

  • Work directly with the Veterinarian in exam rooms

  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment and exam rooms

Client Interaction

  • Provide compassionate, professional communication with clients

  • Review discharge instructions and reinforce doctor recommendations

  • Ensure accurate documentation of services and treatments

Operational Support

  • Maintain inventory and restock supplies

  • Follow hospital SOPs and safety protocols

  • Support workflow efficiency during high-volume appointment times

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary experience preferred (6+ months ideal)

  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • High attention to detail and willingness to learn

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced or stressful situations

Pay for this position is between $19.50 and $21.50 dependent on experience
