Veterinary Assistant

VCA Arroyo Grande Animal Hospital is a  busy , small animal practice in Arroyo Grande, California. We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Veterinary Assistant/Room Technician to join our team! 

Duties will include:

• Tracking scheduled appointments

• Assisting veterinarians; ensuring patients are served in a timely manner

• Drawing up vaccines

• Taking pet's vitals

• Cleaning, stocking and maintaining exam rooms

•  Animal Restraint

•  Assist with technical and clerical duties as assigned

•  Maintaining medical records

•  Preparing surgical suite and surgical patients

•  Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging

Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

• At least one year of Veterinary Assistant,  Veterinary Technician Assistant or Room Technician experience preferred

• Must have great communication skills

• Must be a "people person" and have the ability to interact with clients, doctors, and staff.

• Must have a flexible schedule and able to work Saturdays

• Organized, able to multi-task and DEPENDENT!

Pay: $18.50-$20.00 DOE
