VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is growing and seeking to hire a full-time Veterinary Assistant for our Rehabilitation team.

Schedule: Full-time, 4 x 10 hr shifts (Tuesday through Friday).

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our Rehabilitation Services team. This role supports our veterinary rehabilitation program by assisting with patient care, therapy treatments, and client communication. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in physical rehabilitation, animal handling, and delivering high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians and credentialed technicians with rehabilitation treatments, including therapeutic exercises, laser therapy, and hydrotherapy

  • Safely handle and restrain patients of varying sizes and temperaments

  • Prepare patients and equipment for therapy sessions

  • Monitor patients during treatments and report any concerns to the medical team

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the rehabilitation area and equipment

  • Support medical record documentation as directed

  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care instructions and follow-up

  • Provide compassionate care to patients, ensuring comfort and safety at all times

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant

  • Strong animal handling and restraint skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to lift and assist patients up to 40–50 lbs (with assistance for larger patients)
