Village Veterinary Hospital in Bosque Farms, NM (just 20 minutes south of Albuqureque) is looking for a Veterinary Assistant. Would prefer someone with experience in the veterinary field. We are a true mixed animal practice, working on most small animals, equine, bovine, sheep, pigs, llamas and alpacas.
· Salary: $15 – $20 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications.
· Schedule: Hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Thursday and Saturday 1/2 days 8:30 am – 12 pm. Closed on Sunday and major holidays.

Village Veterinary Hospital is a long-standing mixed animal hospital with deep ties to the community, located in Bosque Farms, New Mexico. With a deeply loyal clientele, this hospital is always busy and utilizes all associates to the highest level of their skills. Our clinic treats small animals (60%), large animals (40%), as well as emergencies. We offer full-service veterinary medical treatment, ranging from preventive medicine, dental cleanings, in-house laboratory, pharmacy, digital x-rays, digital ultrasound, house calls, and emergency surgical care.

Looking for a long term team member, preferable with:
· 1 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary assistant
· Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
· Passion for working with large and small animals, and their owners
· Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
· Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
· Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
· Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
· Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
· Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
· Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
· Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
· Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
