The Opportunity
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Worldwide campus announces an exciting opportunity in the Military & Veteran Student Services department. The VA Counselor is responsible for the proper program administration of Federal and State Veterans’ Education Programs including reporting, payments, compliance for online and campus students.
The VA Counselor oversees the data management, integrity activities and maintenance of student records in compliance with federal VA and all state approving agencies, records maintenance and retention requirements. They focus on quality customer service, aid in recruitment and retention of veteran students attending online courses or campus courses. The VA Counselor enhances the administration of veterans’ education and outreach programs and provide effective services and quality customer service to students and prospective students.

Required Education and Qualifications:
Required skills, knowledge, abilities
Analytical skills with a working knowledge of information systems and with Microsoft operating systems: Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications.
Knowledge of federal, state and intuitional regulations and guidelines related to the administration of Veterans Education Programs preferred.
Ability to adapt to changing situations in a team environment with multiple priorities.
Strong communications skills and attentiveness for problem solving and achieving solutions.
Ability to follow instructions and perform work accurately with a strong attention to detail
