Verafin - Senior Full Stack Application Developer

We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Application Developer to join our team. In this role, you'll use your full-stack development skills to tackle a variety of technical problems, concentrating on debugging, maintaining, and improving existing solutions that have a direct and noticeable impact on our customers. Your work will matter every day. You'll work hand-in-hand with teams throughout the company including Customer Success Managers, Customer Support, and development team to ensure smooth collaboration and effective resolution of challenging issues that require strong technical and analytical skills.

What You'll Do:  

• Collaborate with your team to drive the successful delivery of project requirements  
• Develop innovative user interfaces, robust backend services, and comprehensive data models, propelling the next generation of our services   
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices   
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure high availability and reliability of applications  
• Work with application teams to help solve customer cases  
• Continuously enhance the product by developing new features, fixing bugs, and optimizing performance to deliver the best possible user experience  
• Actively learning from experienced team members and leverage mentoring to enhance your skills  

What You’ll Bring:   

• A university degree or college diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience 
• 2+ years of experience in software development 
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming 
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, with a commitment to documentation standards and automated testing practices 
• Strong SQL query and optimization skills (experience with any SQL database such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server) 
• Strong analytical skills and innovative thinking to solve complex technical challenges 
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities, fostering effective teamwork and collaboration 

Nice to Have: 

• Experience using Java, Javascript, CSS, and React   
• Experience with modern web development frameworks  
• Core Banking Systems    
• Amazon Web Services     
• Big data technologies    
• Data extraction, transformation/cleansing, and integration    
• Knowledge of microservice architecture and experience building scalable, highly available systems   

This position can be located in St. John’s or Toronto and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
