Veneer Helper

Summary: Support veneer production operations at an Allegion facility, assisting with veneer prep, application, trimming, and quality checks to help produce door skins and panels that meet safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect veneer sheets for defects; sort by grade and size for production.
  • Assist with veneer preparation, laying, and trimming under supervision.
  • Load, feed, and align veneers into laminating/press equipment; assist with glue application and adhesive setup as needed.
  • Align veneers to ensure grain continuity and accurate seam matching; trim excess material to size.
  • Conduct basic quality checks on finished panels for defects; report issues to lead or supervisor.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area; perform routine tool and equipment maintenance and calibration as directed.
  • Follow production schedules and assist teammates to meet daily output targets.
  • Observe all safety procedures and wear required PPE; participate in safety and quality briefings.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; prior veneer/mfg experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic math and measurement skills; ability to read simple work orders or blueprints.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs; occasional bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to follow instructions and safety protocols.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing setting with noise and rotating equipment; exposure to dust and adhesives; may require overtime or shift work as needed.
  • PPE provided/required; adherence to all safety policies and quality standards.

Compensation: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
