Major Duties:
- Manages the Vending and Micro Market (MCX-24) Branch of Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) aboard MCB Camp Pendleton, MCAS Yuma, and MCLB Barstow. Plans, coordinates, supervises, and controls direct vending and micro market operations that may include food, retail, beverage, and amusement machines. Oversees the operation and performance of all vending and Micro Market (MCX-24) locations across these installations to ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards. Directs and supervises storage, inventory control, pricing, cash reports, equipment repair, maintenance, and installation of vending and micro market equipment. Ensures security of funds, merchandise, property, and equipment. Oversees accuracy of reports, receipts, accounts, and performance data. Assists in developing business strategies for both vending and Micro Market (MCX-24) operations at MCB Camp Pendleton, MCAS Yuma, and MCLB Barstow, ensuring policy and procedural compliance, measuring performance, and implementing corrective actions where needed. Plans, organizes work schedules, and manages internal resources to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency across all vending and micro market locations. Prepares financial plans, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports. Reviews financial status of assigned activities and recommends necessary changes to improve profitability and performance. Trains, schedules work shifts, appraises performance, counsels assigned personnel, and recommends personnel actions. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity policy and ensures compliance with fire, safety, sanitation, hazardous material handling, and other environmental requirements. Manages new property resources and provides advice on renovations and improvements related to vending and Micro Market (MCX-24) facilities. Maintains and enforces security for funds, merchandise, supplies, and equipment to minimize the potential for fraud, waste, and abuse. Plans, organizes work, and manages internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity and cost efficiency. Prepares internal office financial plans and related reports, exercising authority on approved budgets. Monitors programs on a regular basis and initiates corrective actions to ensure alignment with MCCS operational goals. Develops long-range plans in conjunction with internal operating directives, particularly those related to the expansion and modernization of Micro Market (MCX-24) operations, including support for MCAS Yuma and MCLB Barstow. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies, and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste, and abuse. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Four years experience that demonstrates possession of principles in planning, coordinating and attaining goals and financial objectives of a large customer-oriented vending operation to include; procurement, merchandising, receiving, storing, maintaining and repairing vending equipment. Thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles and ability to analyze trends/developments and make improvements in operating programs through innovative marketing, personnel management and retailing. Skill to supervise employees in accomplishment of work. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.
