Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services supporting the U.S. government, allied partners, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Vehicle Wash Facility Attendant to support a unique U.S. Navy program located on the remote island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
The Vehicle Wash Facility Attendant is responsible for operating and supporting vehicle wash facilities in accordance with Navy environmental, safety, and fleet maintenance standards. Responsibilities include washing, rinsing, and cleaning a variety of government vehicles and equipment to ensure they remain serviceable, presentable, and compliant with cleanliness requirements.
The attendant operates wash systems, pressure washers, and related equipment while following established procedures for water usage, runoff control, and chemical handling. This role includes inspecting vehicles for visible damage prior to and after washing and reporting discrepancies to supervisory or maintenance personnel.
Additional duties include maintaining cleanliness of the wash facility, restocking supplies, performing basic equipment checks, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety protocols. The Vehicle Wash Facility Attendant supports fleet readiness and appearance in a remote, mission‑driven environment.
Minimum Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in vehicle washing, custodial services, equipment cleaning, or related field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment operation, and safe chemical use
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, lifting, and working outdoors
- Must be in possession of a valid Passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport should be valid for a minimum of 1 plus years at the time of hiring.
- Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Excellent organizational, time management and customer service skills.
- Valid country driver's license
- Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide).
