About this position: 

To manage all collateral loan title work for lending & branch loans. This includes processing title work, placing our lien in the system, handling the out of state titles, releasing liens, etc. Must work with the Secretary of State to process title work. Handles reporting of titles and tracks inventory of license plates on hand. Must be a self-starter who is willing to help develop this new area and design processes and procedures to ensure the success of the department.

 

What you’ll do: 

  • Processing all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they will be titled. Preparing tax and title documents, submitting all legal transfer work to the Department of Motor Vehicles, verifies that funds have been collected and the correct lien holder is paid off before processing title application.

  • Checking for accuracy in applications, ensuring that all information is complete, and accurately documenting receipt of titles and file & track out of state titles. Processing license plate issuing, transfers, and identifying errors on titles and escalating when appropriate.

  • Tracking inventory of license plates on hand and reporting to the State of Michigan as required and maintaining vehicle inquiries reporting for audits by the state.

  • Maintaining all out of state titles and processing out of state title work, as needed.

  • Releasing liens on collateral & issuing UCC1 statements when no title is available.

  • Under one year of similar or related experience.

  • A high school degree or equivalent.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
