Job Description Summary

A VCP focused Development Engineer with Six Sigma expertise to drive cost reduction and operational excellence across MRI magnet assembly processes. This role will lead transformative initiatives to optimize performance, reduce waste, and enhance productivity in engineering design and manufacturing.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Champion the deployment of VCP principles and tools within engineering teams to achieve measurable improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Develop and track KPIs related to engineering efficiency, project cycle time, and cost savings.

  • Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure alignment and integration of VCP initiatives.

  • Mentor engineers and team leaders on Lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and VCP best practices.

  • Drive high-impact projects that support business objectives and customer satisfaction.

  • Apply statistical tools and root cause analysis to identify opportunities and implement solutions.

  • Manage and execute Six Sigma projects that deliver measurable business results.

  • Provides technical support and evaluation of alternative material and processes to support supply chain needs.

  • Participate in many phases of the product development life cycle

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Related Field

  • 3+ years of experience with manufacturing or engineering product development, Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement frameworks.

Desired Characteristics

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Established project management skills.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as heavy equipment mfg., assembly technology, materials technology, and manufacturing methods technology.

  • Hands on hardware experience with mechanical or electrical assemblies and tooling.
