Who we are looking for

Do you bring a track record of hands-on leadership and operational excellence in an electromechanical shop environment? Do you have experience as a Value Stream Manager (VSM) building and leading a high-production facility from the ground up?  In this role, you’ll be instrumental in standing up an innovative manufacturing operation—designing the production organization, hiring and developing a high-performing team, determining capital requirements to support breakthrough growth, and establishing critical supply chain partnerships. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day activities of a cross-functional Value Stream team that operates in a fast-paced, high-output environment. You’ll also develop and drive operational strategies to support rapid volume growth and drive continuous improvement across the plant. Success in this role demands a hands-on leadership approach, a deep understanding of electromechanical processes, methods, equipment, tools and fluency in Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies.

This is a unique opportunity for a highly impactful role where you can take initiative and solve complex problems in a high growth, collaborative atmosphere. The electromechanical/drones VSM will directly manage production supervisor, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers / technicians and the other resources required to deliver value to our customers.  The VSM will also work closely with the sourcing, engineering, quality, and Lean teams.

• Strategic Leadership: Continue to develop and implement the existing strategic plan to establish and scale an electromechanical manufacturing facility, aligning with corporate objectives and industry standard processes.
• Facility & Equipment Setup: Oversee remaining facility buildout, procurement of manufacturing equipment, and implementation of production lines.
• Process Development: Design and implement advanced manufacturing processes, automation strategies, and quality control systems to ensure high-yield, cost-efficient production.
• Operational Excellence: Drive lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize production efficiency and reduce waste.
• Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team, including production, quality, supply chain, and engineering personnel.
• Supply Chain & Procurement: Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to establish a robust supply chain for key components, materials, and equipment, working closely with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and reliability.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing processes align with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
• Financial & Budget Management: Develop and manage operational budgets, capital expenditures, and cost control measures to achieve financial targets.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, product development, and commercial teams to align manufacturing capabilities with market demands and product innovations.
• Technology & Innovation: Stay at the forefront of emerging Drones technologies and manufacturing advancements, positioning the organization as an industry leader.

What you bring to the Team

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in check electromechanical  shop, with a strong preference for electromechanical/drones.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role within an advanced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with facility startup, new product introduction, and production scale-up.
• Deep understanding of electromechanical/drones manufacturing
• Expertise in automation, Industry 4.0, and smart manufacturing technologies.
• Strong leadership, team building, and talent development skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
• Foundation and experience working in lean manufacturing
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other quality management systems.

Note: This position is located onsite in New Kensington PA.
