Withum's Forensic and Valuation Services practice pride themselves in understanding their clients’ business strategy and needs; assisting companies in meeting business requirements related to valuation, risk management, transfer pricing, economic analysis, and model validation. Withum professionals help clients make forward thinking decisions about strategy, operations and compliance and create long-lasting value.

We are currently seeking an Associate focused on real estate valuations to join Withum’s Forensic and Valuation Services Group. The Valuation Associate can be based out of our New York City or Philadelphia office. This is a hybrid position. The in-office expectation is a hybrid schedule (3 days in office expectation per week). This position offers the opportunity to work directly with other accounting professionals in performing accounting, auditing, advisory, and tax functions for our diverse client base.

Along with a team supervised by a Manager, Senior Manager or Principal, you will:

  • Assist audit, tax, and advisory teams in developing the appropriate scope of work for real estate valuation engagements.
  • Analyze and review physical and financial characteristics of properties.
  • Perform site visits to collect data on and perform observations of real estate.
  • Research and analyze real estate markets, economics, public records, and sale and lease data.
  • Perform independent appraisals of real property for estates, financial planning, lending, litigation, financial reporting, and other intended uses. 
  • Assist audit teams in appraisal reviews of third-party reports and perform independent validation of values and inputs used in audits.
  • Attend industry and professional society meetings, conferences, marketing, and recruitment events as necessary. 
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduated or graduating college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in any field
  • 0 – 3 years of experience
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to commute to one of our office locations
  • Excellent interpersonal and computer skills
  • Excel, Word, and Adobe proficiency. Argus familiarity a plus, but not required

Expectations

  • Associates will be required to register as an appraisal trainee and pursue the Certified General Real Estate Appraiser credential.

In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience, and qualifications. NYC ranges are from $65,000 - $90,000
