We’re looking for Validation Technician will be responsible for overseeing testing and validation projects, providing technical guidance & improving on the tools used for each task. To drive efficiency gains & quality improvements for a team of technicians in the maintenance and testing of Aggreko equipment. Additionally, the technician will ensure that the team adheres to the set development plans and objectives.

What you’ll do:
Supporting the on-time delivery of the build plan
Providing technical guidance and mentorship
Resolving technical issues and challenges that arise
Implement best practices to continuously improve team performance
Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies
Developing validation protocols and documenting validation activities
Planning & Execution of validation testing
Conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback/training to technicians to improve their skills and performance.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Validation and Testing Competence
Test Setup and Execution: Prepare engines and associated systems (fuel, air, oil, cooling) on various products for validation and test runs. Test and evaluate new, refurbished and repaired generators and prepare test reports as per ISO standards. Operate engine test rigs and monitor test conditions in real time, often using specialized software and control systems.
Instrumentation and Data Acquisition: Install and maintain sensors for collecting accurate data on temperature, pressure, vibration, and flow measurements.
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical and instrumentation issues during test campaigns to minimize delays. Utilize diagnostic tools and software to interpret failure modes and identify root causes of problems.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of all test activities, results, and findings. Document procedures and prepare comprehensive reports and summaries for engineers and management, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Perform testing to ensure compliance with Aggreko and stated International Codes and requirements, including emissions control and safety standards.
Maintenance and Safety: Conduct system checks, calibrations, and equipment maintenance to ensure products and support systems are operational and safe. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
Collaboration: Work closely with technicians and cross-functional teams (Production and Maintenance,) to ensure efficient test execution and process improvement.

Strong electrical aptitude and hands-on experience with engine control components.
Proficiency in the use of data acquisition (DAQ) and control systems (e.g., DataTaker DT85) and engine diagnostic software.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and schematics.
Familiarity with emissions measurement equipment and engine control units (ECUs).
Previous hands-on experience in an engine or turbine test environment, or as a diesel/gas technician, is typically required.
Specialized diploma with post-secondary training / University degree in a technical discipline / Certificate in diesel/automotive technology.
