Responsible for reaching targeted levels of cost saving through the timely, effective implementation of VA/VE initiatives. Conduct ongoing Value Analysis to identify and prioritize opportunities for new cost saving projects. Develop detailed action plans, milestones and deliverables for all projects.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead VA/VE Events designed to identify cost reduction opportunities from competitive benchmarking, internal benchmarking, and in-plant events.
· Develop business cases for cost reduction ideas, gain approvals, and track progress though the implementation level pipeline.
· Contributes to the creation of action plans for each approved VA/VE initiative and ensures they are maintained by the project owner.
· Effectively coordinates Company-wide staff and related resources to implement VA/VE projects on-time and to the targeted cost saving.
· Keep others (Colleagues, Supplier Partners, etc.) effectively informed/engaged throughout each VA/VE Project.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical field
· At least 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Operations Management or Finance
· At least 2 yrs of proven team management
· Proven record of project and team management.
· Proven experience Manufacturing products.
· Use of project management tools / software – SmartSheet MS Project
· Strong written and verbal communications and must be comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization.
· Proven leadership of cross functional teams.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
· Exceptionally productive, even in the absence of daily, direct supervision.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Experience in Woodworking or the Furniture Industry.
· Working knowledge of VA/VE process
· Experience leading remote teams and processes
· Lean and 6 Sigma experience.
· Working knowledge of Engineering processes, Manufacturing and/or Product Engineering and Product Costing.
