Marek Novotný is a Partner within the Advisory services of PwC. Working extensively in the US and European geographies, he is recognized as a strong executive within the technology areas. He is focused on quality while providing a reliable and trustworthy services in areas of custom software development covering digital products and services development, cloud transformations and data related services (analytics, engineering and science). In the past Marek has held also an array of positions within areas of Technology Consulting, Forensics Technology Services and Data Analytics.
As a UX Lead, you are responsible for leading UX work on client engagements, supporting and guiding other designers, and helping ensure UX delivers real value for users, clients, and the business. This role combines hands‑on UX leadership, stakeholder and client interaction, and commercial responsibility. You will not only deliver UX within projects, but also actively contribute to growing and upselling the UX competency, positioning the UX team as a trusted and valuable capability. You work within PwC frameworks and are expected to operate confidently in a complex, fast‑paced environment. You will be part of a UX team of five designers. The team is primarily based in the Prague office, with some members located across Europe. The role involves:
Regular collaboration with colleagues in Prague/online
Working effectively with distributed team members across the World
Supporting consistency, alignment, and quality across locations
Being present in the Prague office to support teamwork, mentoring, and collaboration
Lead UX Work
Take responsibility for UX delivery on projects or defined workstreams.
Lead UX activities from discovery through delivery.
Structure and clarify problem spaces where requirements or direction are unclear.
Ensure UX outputs are coherent, usable, and aligned with user and business needs.
Review UX work and provide clear, constructive direction to improve quality.
Remain hands‑on when required (research, workshops, design, validation).
UX Business, Value & Upselling
Actively position UX as a value‑adding service, not just a delivery activity.
Identify opportunities within ongoing engagements to expand or deepen UX involvement.
Work with engagement leads to:
Shape and upsell UX scope where appropriate
Introduce UX earlier into projects (discovery, research, strategy, AI UX)
Define UX effort, team needs, and approach
Contribute UX input into proposals, extensions, and new opportunities.
Support sustainable utilization and growth of the UX team through credible delivery.
Representing UX
Mentor and guide UX designers and researchers.
Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and skill development.
Support definition of UX standards, best practices, and quality expectations.
Help build a confident UX team able to explain and defend design decisions.
Business & Stakeholder Management
Act as the senior UX representative within project and client teams.
Communicate UX decisions clearly to non‑UX and senior stakeholders.
Advocate for UX where it brings clear value, and stay pragmatic where it does not.
Help ensure UX is seen as a trusted contributor, not only visual or executional design.
Work closely with engagement leads, product owners, and technology teams.
Balance user needs with commercial constraints such as scope, timeline, and budget.
Understand client priorities and delivery context.
Identify and communicate UX risks and dependencies early.
People & Capability Support
Mentor and support UX designers in day‑to‑day work.
Act as a go‑to person for guidance, review, and problem solving.
Support onboarding of new team members.
Contribute to shared UX standards, practices, and ways of working.
Help maintain consistent expectations of UX quality across engagements.
PwC Ways of Working

Ensure required internal tasks are completed correctly and consistently.

AI & Contemporary UX
Proactively suggest and design UX AI tools
Use AI tools where they meaningfully support UX work (research, synthesis, ideation).
Contribute to the design of AI‑enabled products and services.
Consider usability, transparency, and trust when designing AI‑driven features.
Stay informed about changes in UX tools, patterns, and technologies.
Strong experience in UX design, including ownership of UX work or workstreams.
Solid foundation in research, interaction design, and problem framing.
Experience working with clients and senior stakeholders.
Experience working with AI tools.
Ability to explain UX value clearly in business and delivery terms.
Commercial awareness and experience contributing to scope shaping or upselling.
Comfort working within structured delivery and governance environments.
Interest in AI and its impact on user experience and digital solutions.
