Progyny is seeking a Utilization Management Summer Intern with a Compliance and Accreditation Focus.
The Utilization Management Intern will support Progyny’s UM team with a primary focus on compliance, audit readiness, and accreditation-aligned processes, while gaining hands-on exposure to UM program development and case review operations.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, self-motivated individual who is comfortable interpreting existing processes and creating new or improved workflows. The intern will collaborate cross-functionally, support provider UM audits, assist with policy and documentation alignment, and contribute to meaningful process improvement initiatives.
The internship begins June 2nd 2026, and culminates in a presentation to senior leadership.
What you’ll do…
Lead and collaborate cross functionally across all departments to support Progyny’s growth initiatives in conjunction with requirements from leadership
Leverage your experience to partner in business development or product development assignments
Use analytical skills to create strategic concepts to drive the business forward
Execute on improvement projects aimed at achieving strategic and financial objectives.
Understand and analyze various drivers impacting key metrics and outcomes and provide a fact-based recommendation to the stakeholders.
Experience opportunities to use your skills in impactful projects, meetings and presentations to senior leadership.
Constantly be challenged to generate net new solutions to solve member or client problems.
About you...
Currently enrolled in a graduate program
Strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) skills and ability to efficiently work with large volumes of data and pivot tables
Comfortable collaborating with and presenting to executives
Demonstrated ability to be adaptive and inquisitive; natural problem solver
Driven to deliver results with the ability to establish rapport, earn trust, and effectively collaborate with others
Interest in or experience with healthcare, medical fields, or clinical operations (e.g., nursing, pre-med, healthcare administration, healthcare research)
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
Comfortable working independently with guidance and managing multiple workstreams
Ability to interpret processes and create or improve workflows
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Exposure to utilization management, medical policy, or healthcare operations
Experience or familiarity with healthcare compliance, audits, or quality improvement
NCQA and/or URAC accreditation exposure or experience (perk, not required)

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the hourly salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $25.00/hour - $50.00/hour. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
