Position Overview:
As a Used Equipment Inspector, you will work very closely with the Used Equipment Managers here at Finning. You are detail oriented and know used Equipment. You will be assessing the physical condition of the equipment and assisting with re-marketing the assets.
You are a strong communicator, have a mechanical aptitude and excellent time management skills. You’re a team player and work well with minimal supervision.

Job Description:
- Perform comprehensive machine assessment including scheduling, physical confirmation of build specs, cosmetic details, operation of all functions and photos.
- Complete detailed documentation of assessment on Re-Marketing forms as requested by Used Equipment Manager or CAT Finance.
- Upload all pictures to specified site.
- Provide repair scope for Re-marketing purposes.
- Identify non-compliance items for Rental Purchase Option and lease returns as required.
- Liaise with Service facility to provide Used Equipment Managers with estimate for reconditioning.
- Research and document machine service and maintenance history including oil sample results.
- Assist Used Equipment Mangers with market research, staging of equipment, freight arrangements and consultation with Service facility to complete repairs.
Qualifications:
- Technical certification required (Heavy Equipment Technician).
- Previous experience working with heavy equipment preferred.
- Sales and/or marketing experience will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of CAT and related equipment.
- Understanding of basic re-marketing functions and knowledge.
- Comprehension of equipment profitability.
- Travel will be required (10%-20%).
