USB & USB PD System and Application Engineer

Chandler (Office) Full time

System Applications Engineer with deep expertise in USB, USB Power Delivery (PD), and DisplayPort technologies to support system‑level design, integration, and customer enablement. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical bridge between product development, validation, marketing, and customers, ensuring robust, standards‑compliant solutions for PC, consumer, and embedded system applications.

This role requires strong hands‑on experience with high‑speed interfaces, power delivery architectures, and system debugging across hardware and software boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide system‑level application support for products implementing USB 2.0/3.x/4, USB‑C, USB Power Delivery, and DisplayPort (DP/DP Alt Mode).
  • Act as a technical interface for customers, supporting design‑in activities, schematic reviews, and system bring‑up.
  • Debug and resolve signal integrity, power negotiation, interoperability, and compliance issues at the board and system level.
  • Support USB‑C and PD architecture including source/sink, DRP, PPS, EPR, cable considerations, and protection schemes.
  • Support DisplayPort and DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB‑C, including link training, MST, HPD, AUX channel, and interoperability.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (silicon design, firmware, validation, marketing) to define reference designs, application notes, and customer documentation.
  • Participate in compliance testing (USB‑IF, VESA) and interoperability events; analyze failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver technical presentations, training, and demonstrations for internal teams and customers.
  • Influence future product definitions by providing system application feedback and market insights.
