About the role
We’re looking for a strategic and creative Senior Manager, Social Strategy to shape how Walmart Connect shows up on social — starting with LinkedIn, our primary storytelling channel. In this role, you’ll lead the strategy, content approach, and performance measurement for LinkedIn while building the roadmap for Walmart Connect’s future social presence. You’ll balance creativity and strategy — crafting punchy, scroll-stopping content that elevates our voice in retail media, while establishing scalable processes, analytics, and advocacy programs. You’ll work cross-functionally with Comms, Creative, Events, Product Marketing, Sales, and more to ensure social becomes a powerful channel for storytelling, visibility, and engagement. This role reports to the Director, Brand & Content Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Social Strategy & Governance

Lead the LinkedIn channel strategy, overseeing content planning, publishing cadence, tone, and community engagement.

Create and manage a formalized intake process for internal stakeholders (Growth Marketing, Events, Sales, Comms, Product Marketing, etc.) to submit requests, ensuring priorities are clear and timelines are met.

Develop and maintain a social calendar informed by the broader Marketing calendar, key events, and thought leadership opportunities.

Balance reactive moments with proactive, social-first storytelling, including recurring series, behind-the-scenes looks, and data-driven insights.
Content Creation & Amplification

Translate long-form content (e.g., event recaps, announcements, research) into short, engaging, and shareable posts designed for LinkedIn audiences.

Partner with design and video teams to bring content to life — visual and video skills are a plus.

Develop and execute 360° social strategies for Tier 1 events — driving cohesive pre-, during-, and post-event storytelling across owned, earned, and partner channels — and codify best practices into a scalable social media playbook for future activations.

Drive a holistic amplification approach across owned content, internal executive advocacy, and external partner or client amplification, ensuring every event moment is extended and reinforced across audiences.

Collaborate with internal partners and agency teams to ensure content aligns with Walmart Connect’s voice, tone, and visual identity.
Collaboration & Alignment

Partner across Sales, Product Marketing, Comms, Events, and other Walmart Connect teams to distill complex initiatives into social-first, compelling messaging and visuals that resonate with our audiences.

Work closely with the Creative, Growth Marketing, and Brand & Content Strategy teams to set a clear social design and messaging vision, ensuring all assets are optimized for LinkedIn, integrated with paid amplification strategies, and consistently reflect Walmart Connect’s brand identity and tone.

Build a strong, ongoing partnership with the Enterprise Social Team to maintain open communication, share insights, and identify opportunities to align on key campaigns and storytelling moments that reinforce a unified One Walmart presence.

Act as a connector across teams, driving alignment, visibility, and momentum for Walmart Connect’s social presence.
Advocacy & Amplification Programs

Build and manage an advocacy strategy that empowers Walmart Connect’s partners, advertisers, and team members to champion our story.

Develop toolkits, messaging, and campaigns that encourage partner amplification and create a consistent brand voice through the ecosystem.

Cultivate external advocates (brands, agencies, thought leaders) to strengthen Walmart Connect’s industry presence and credibility.
Performance & Insights

Define and track key LinkedIn metrics — reach, engagement, impressions, share of voice, and benchmark performance.

Provide regular reports and insights to demonstrate impact and identify content themes that resonate.

Partner with Brand Strategy and Insights teams to connect social performance to brand perception and awareness goals.
Innovation & Future Channel Exploration

Begin exploring emerging social channels relevant to the B2B and retail media landscape (e.g., TikTok for Business, YouTube, Threads).

Identify opportunities for scalable, test-and-learn pilots that expand Walmart Connect’s reach to new audiences.

Bring forward best practices, competitive insights, and innovative ideas to keep the brand at the forefront of social storytelling.
Core Skills & Competencies

Exceptional writer — sharp, clear, and creative across both long-form storytelling and short-form, high-impact copy.

Strategic understanding of LinkedIn as a brand storytelling and thought leadership platform.

Strong grasp of social content strategy, governance, and stakeholder intake processes.

Proven ability to lead and mentor contractors or external partners, while remaining comfortable as a hands-on individual contributor.

Design and video sensibility — able to brief creative effectively and ensure assets are optimized for performance.

Data-driven and analytical mindset; skilled at translating performance metrics into insights and recommendations.

Deep understanding of B2B or retail media communications, with the ability to craft messages that balance creativity and credibility.

Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across Marketing, Creative, Sales, and Leadership teams.

Minimum Qualifications

10+ years of experience in social media strategy, content marketing, or digital communications, preferably for a large brand, media company, or agency.

Proven success managing LinkedIn or B2B social channels that drive brand awareness and engagement.

Exceptional writing skills with experience crafting social-first content for executive or brand voices.

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

Design or video experience (hands-on or collaborative) a plus.

Experience managing advocacy or ambassador programs.

Familiarity with social analytics tools.

Experience in retail media, digital advertising, or B2B tech.

Comfortable experimenting with emerging channels like TikTok for Business, YouTube, or Threads for thought leadership content.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
