Role Summary
As the Senior Director, Business Information Security Partners (BISP), you will lead and scale a high-impact organization of Business Information Security Partners who serve as the trusted security advisors to Walmart’s core technology organizations. Reporting into the Information Security Partners organization, you will own the strategy, operating model, capabilities, and measurable outcomes of the BISP function across your portfolio.
You will partner broadly across Global Tech to ensure a consistent, scalable, and business-aligned security posture across product and platform teams. This role is accountable for advancing security maturity through automation, security-by-design, and scalable enablement, shaping risk-based executive decisions, and ensuring Information Security priorities remain tightly aligned to business objectives.

About the Team
At Walmart, we prioritize innovation while protecting the trust of our customers, associates, and stakeholders. The BISP leadership team builds and scales the trusted advisory layer between engineering/product teams and Information Security. As a senior leader, you will foster a culture of security-by-design, operational excellence, and inclusive leadership, enabling teams to move fast while managing risk responsibly at enterprise scale.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead and scale the Business Information Security Partners (BISP) organization by setting clear vision, hiring and succession plans, and enabling associates to operate as trusted security advisors at enterprise scale.
  • Own and evolve the BISP strategy, operating model, and roadmap to deliver a consistent, scalable, and business-aligned security posture across Global Tech.
  • Partner with Global Tech, product, and engineering leaders to drive cross-organization security outcomes, coordinate horizontal security programs, and translate business needs into Information Security priorities and capabilities.
  • Embed security-by-design into product and engineering lifecycles by driving automation, developer-friendly guardrails, and secure SDLC practices that make secure choices the default.
  • Define, prioritize, and oversee security maturity journeys, including investment decisions, predictable roadmaps, and governance models that demonstrate measurable risk reduction and business value.
  • Build and scale a repeatable advisory model that enables BISPs to operate consistently and effectively across product, platform, and operations teams.
  • Instrument, govern, and report on security maturity metrics and risk posture, clearly communicating program health and outcomes to senior and executive leadership.
  • Serve as the senior arbiter for business–security tradeoffs, translating complex technical risk into clear, data-driven insights and recommendations for executive decision-making.
  • Align Information Security demand, prioritization, and compliance requirements (PCI, HIPAA, SOX, ISO, and other relevant frameworks) with business standards, delivery timelines, and regulatory expectations.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing, inclusive BISP organization, fostering an ethical, collaborative, and results-driven culture that preserves trust with customers, associates, and stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience leading and scaling security advisory, risk, or enablement functions at the senior manager/director level or above within large, complex technology organizations (retail experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated success building and retaining high-performing security teams, including experience establishing BISP-style advisory or security enablement models.
  • Deep expertise in security risk management, governance, and compliance, including PCI, HIPAA, SOX, ISO, and related frameworks.
  • Strong technical foundation across secure SDLC, cloud security, IAM, threat and vulnerability management, application security, and security automation.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with experience influencing senior leaders and partnering horizontally across large enterprises.
