US Internal Medicine Innovation Lead

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Director, US Internal Medicine Commercial Innovation Lead reports to the US Internal Medicine Lead and will enable the development and implementation of new technologies and platforms in partnership with the brand team leads. This role will serve primarily as strategic support for ELIQUIS, a co-promote with Bristol Myers Squibb, and a top-selling non-specialty drug in the U.S. Eliquis is a flagship brand for the Internal Medicine Business Unit.

The Innovation Lead will be accountable for driving growth in two areas: 1) establishing growth opportunities within the patient journey (ie point of sale support, addressing barriers to treatment) and 2) assessing and implementing new digital innovations to transform commercial efforts.   Additionally, the Innovation Lead will support long-term strategies for the Internal Medicine portfolio with cross-functional partners in Business Development, Clinical, Access & Value and Global Marketing. This includes shaping mid-term strategies in Internal Medicine indications of interest and forming a US commercial framework for assessing new therapeutic area opportunities.

This role requires a deep understanding of the US market and experience in establishing novel go-to-market models. The Innovation Lead will direct a small team of direct reports and cross-functional partners. They will also work collaboratively across a diverse set of stakeholders to achieve Eliquis goals and define growth strategies for the US Internal Medicine franchise.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Channel & New Program Assessment

  • Evaluate strategies for alternative promotional channels and partnerships in collaboration with the Internal Medicine Leadership Team.
  • Partner with analytics teams to translate market research, customer insights and patient perspectives into innovative opportunities to accelerate brand growth.
  • Lead the assessment and development of an integrated adherence platform.
  • Deliver adherence strategy and initiatives for brand team implementation that strengthen customer engagement and impact quality care gaps.

AI/ Omnichannel Lead

  • Build and maintain a forward-looking AI strategy roadmap aligned to commercial priorities.
  • Identify strategic whitespace opportunities and propose initiatives to strengthen therapeutic area leadership and differentiation.
  • Define prioritization criteria (impact, feasibility, risk, compliance, data readiness) and manage the pipeline of AI and omnichannel initiatives.
  • Assess and champion new go-to-market approaches utilizing AI and enterprise resources to strengthen customer and patient experience.
  • Assess and advance enterprise omnichannel efforts to deliver most relevant commercialization models or analytics to improve speed, personalization, and brand performance.
  • Partner with PX, CMO and US IMLT to deliver sustainable AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Ensure successful roll-out of omnichannel marketing campaigns and other commercial initiatives in line with approved plans and budgets

IM Therapeutic Area Strategy

  • Define Internal Medicine therapeutic area opportunity for US with Medical and key commercial partners.
  • Support and/or lead development of category strategy inputs for US commercial (ie market dynamics, competitive landscape, customer needs, growth levers).
  • Evaluate business development opportunities and prepare team for US assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 12+ years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 10+ years of experience; OR a PhD with 7+ years of experience;
  • Strong knowledge of the US healthcare market required
  • Experience in US marketing, including omnichannel strategies, customer marketing and engagement and market access tactics
  • Market research experience or significant engagement with market research in numerous projects
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in effectively leading and influencing a cross functional/indirect team
  • Experience managing expenses, conducting ROI analyses and making financial trade-offs
  • Demonstrated initiative, strong problem solving, decision making and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical capabilities; experience implementing at tactical level
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively both one-on-one and in groups

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $358,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
