ABOUT THE ROLE:

The University Relations Recruiting Specialist provides operational support for Fifth Third Bank’s early-career recruiting program. This role supports the planning and execution of university recruiting activities and candidate coordination to help deliver a positive, consistent candidate experience. The University Relations Recruiting Specialist typically partners with recruiters, hiring leaders, and university contacts to lead event logistics, screen and communicate with candidates, manage candidate workflows, and maintain accurate recruiting data and documentation.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities for this role are below; you may support projects of varying complexity based on skill and organizational priorities.

  • Event & Logistics Support: Partner with recruiters to plan, schedule, and execute on‑campus, in‑office, and virtual recruiting events, including career fairs, information sessions, and candidate programs, while maintaining the University Relations calendar.
  • Screen Candidates: Conduct initial candidate screenings to evaluate baseline qualifications, interest, and alignment with role requirements, typically by reviewing applications and resumes, completing phone/virtual screening conversations or structured screening questions, documenting screening outcomes in the recruiting system, and providing timely recommendations and next-step routing to recruiters.
  • Employer Branding: Support employer branding efforts through campus job postings and coordination of recruitment marketing materials, event supplies, and branded gifts.
  • Candidate Coordination: Support candidate scheduling and communication throughout the recruiting process, typically by coordinating interview details, communicating instructions, and ensuring candidates have timely updates and an excellent experience.  Serve as the primary point of contact for candidate scheduling queries.
  • Candidate Onboarding Support: Support offer, pre-boarding, and onboarding activities for early-career hiring, typically by initiating and monitoring background checks, processing new-hire transactions, and sending pre-start instructions and start-date confirmation communications to ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance to day one.
  • Offer Management: Compile, submit, and track offers for intern and full-time candidates, including initiating offer tasks in Workday.
  • Expense & Invoice Processing: Pay invoices, retain receipts, and document expenses for reporting purposes.
  • Data & Reporting: Maintain accurate data in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), generate recruiting reports, and support business review data needs.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a secondary liaison with university career services and external partners to facilitate recruiting activities.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in process improvement efforts and propose practical solutions for recruiting challenges.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with record-keeping standards and ethical recruiting practices.
  • Other Duties: Performing other duties as assigned, adapting to new tasks or shifts in priorities as necessary to support your team’s and the company’s mission.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related area preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in recruiting coordination, university relations, HR operations or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Qualified candidates will possess an intermediate degree of proficiency (typically from 1–3 years of work or practical experience) in:

  • Organization & Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse).
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Recruiting Coordination: Ability to coordinate candidate and recruiter activities, including scheduling, communication and task tracking.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to changing work environments and priorities.

SKILLS FOR SUCCESS:

Qualified candidates will possess an intermediate degree of proficiency (typically from 1-3 years of work or practical experience), across a suite of skills including, but not limited to: 

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% during peak recruiting seasons.
  • Collaborative mindset for working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills for generating reports and providing data insights.
  • Customer service orientation for candidate and stakeholder experience.

Total Base Pay Range 48,100.00 - 96,200.00 USD Annual

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
