The Surgical Pathology Service of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a Surgical/ Gastrointestinal Pathology fellow for one year. The successful candidate will have completed an AP or AP/CP residency at an ACGME accredited institution and be board eligible. Experience in diagnostic surgical pathology, gastro-intestinal biopsy sign-out, frozen section examinations, rush cases and consultation cases (gastro-intestinal, hepatic and additional organ systems). Fellows are given primary responsibility for examination and diagnosis of surgical pathology specimens. The fellowship offers opportunity for teaching residents, medical students, and for participation in interdepartmental conferences.Entity

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate must hold or be eligible for a South Carolina Medical License. The Candidate may participate in ongoing research projects with the section of Surgical Pathology.
