About the LSU Agricultural Center: The LSU AgCenter is one of 8 campuses within the LSU enterprise. The LSU AgCenter includes the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station, which conducts agricultural-based research, and the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service, which extends the knowledge derived from research to the people of the state. The AgCenter is headquartered in Baton Rouge and has 12 academic departments and five regions which are made up of 15 branch research stations and an extension office in each parish. Position Description: The Unified Communications Technician/Analyst position’s primary purpose is to implement, maintain, and support the LSU AgCenter communication systems such as video conferencing, instant messaging, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), fax, streaming, etc. The UC Technician/Analyst installs, operates, maintains, distributes, configures, repairs, upgrades, and supports audio-visual equipment for the organization. This position reports to the Assistant Director of IT Security, Infrastructure, and Unified Communications. Specific duties are as follows:
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Baccalaureate degree.
Experience in the public sector and/or a university setting is desirable.
Experience providing on-site and/or remote meeting support.
Experience using on-prem or cloud-based conferencing software/services such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, Polycom, Tandberg, Codian, etc.
Experience with providing support for Microsoft Office products, Windows Operating System, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
Experience installing audio/video hardware such as LCD/LED displays, speakers, microphones, cameras, projector screens, audio/video wiring, etc.
Experience training end-users in the use of UC hardware, software, etc.
Experience in creating knowledgebase articles and user guides.
Candidate must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl as well as lift and handle 30 lbs.
Applicants must have a smartphone with voice and data services and have or be able to obtain a valid Louisiana driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience managing conferencing infrastructure using Teams Admin Center to configure meeting options, conferencing policies, etc.
Knowledge of network switches, QoS, PoE, VLAN, Audio/Video Codecs.
